This study investigates the role of broadcast media in mobilizing women for political participation with a focus on ASKiNG RADiO 98.5 SPEED FM Makurdi in Benue State Nigeria in Africa. The poor rate of female political participation in Nigeria prompted the study. Using a descriptive design method both primary (questionnaires interviews observations) and secondary sources (books literature) were utilized. A sample population of 5500 was selected through random sampling and a sample size of 110 determined using systematic sampling. Data analysis involved chi-square statistical procedure to test hypotheses revealing a positive impact of broadcast media on women's political participation. However the study noted shortcomings in promoting gender equality in politics. It emphasized the importance of intellectual ability over physical energy in politics and recommended grassroots enlightenment campaigns to change negative perceptions and encourage more women to seek elective positions.
