Briquetting in Metallurgy

<p>In the arsenal of ways of carbon consumption and emissions reduction the main tasks of modern metallurgy briquetting occupies significant places. Today briquetting is a cost-effective industrially mastered technology capable to process natural and anthropogenic materials without their preliminary high-temperature treatment. The book summarizes the scientific research and the practice of briquettes use for the smelting of cast iron steel ferroalloys and the production of direct reduced iron. Comparison with sintering and pelletization is given. Particular attention is paid to debunking the myths about briquetting which are firmly rooted in the minds of metallurgists.</p>
