Broken Silences

Femicide an extreme form of gender violence has left a painful trail in Ecuador's history. This book seeks to shed light on this problem from a gender perspective analyzing its social cultural and political roots as well as the implications it has on the lives of Ecuadorian women. Through an exhaustive analysis supported by pertinent bibliographic citations it seeks to make visible the underlying causes the devastating consequences and the possible solutions to combat this scourge that plagues Ecuadorian society.
