Buddhism Moves West

This is a modern exploration of Buddhism''s steady but prominent movement into literature and film beginning in the early twentieth century. While not each novel or film boasts explicit ties to Buddhism it is clear through the themes characters and overall content with The Fountainhead The Lord of the Rings The Thin Red Line and Beasts of the Southern Wild that Buddhist thought and influence is present. Moving chronologically through time Buddhism within these works can be seen as increasing and illustrated quite clearly.
