Bulky Schiff Bases and Their Metal Complexes

About The Book

In this book fluorescence quenching was first used to study the interaction of these amantadine Schiff bases and bovine serum albumin (BSA). Taking the bulky Schiff bases derived from rimantadine and salicylaldehyde/or methoxy-substituted salicylaldehydes) as ligands three copper(II) complexes were obtained successfully. Cyclometallated Pd(II) complexes containing arylimine and salicylaldimine co-ligands were synthesized by the reactions of cyclopalladated chloro dimers with salen-based ligands derived from rimantadine. Interaction of cyclometallated Pd(II) complexes with BSA was investigated by fluorescence and synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy.
