Bunner Sisters

The story Bunner Sisters which was written in 1892 but wasn't released until 1916 in Xingu and Other Stories is set in a run-down area of New York City. The female population of Stuyvesant Square may purchase fake flowers and little hand-sewn items from the two Bunner sisters Evelina the younger and Ann Eliza the older.Evelina receives a clock from Ann Eliza for her birthday. Because of the clock the sisters end up dating Herbert Ramy the proprietor of the queerest little store you ever laid eyes on. The Bunner sisters soon start to have Ramy as a frequent visitor after realising that their treadmill routine which was once so cosy has become intolerably monotonous.
