This book introduces Shaykh Abdr-Rahim Muhammad Waq Allah [1923 - 2005] one of the most notable Sudanese Sufi poet. His reputation as holy man and Madiḥ poet represent savior to the Sudanese middle class in crisis. He tends to simplify religion. Over all Sudan he is known as Abuna Al Bur’ai (father Al Bur’ai). His style of writing which summarizes the Ṣūfī doctrine into simple in addition to celebrating all Sudanese Ṣūfī figures in poems caused his popularity throughout the Sudan.
