Buried Alive

Community organizer and cousin of Emmett Till and Mamie Till Mobley digs up vulnerable moments throughout her young adult life revealing the historic and systemic consequences of the plight of Black children in America 60 years after Jim Crow. Buried Alive is a touching inspiring story of one modern day descendant of Emmett Till 14 year old boy whose lynching haunts the United States as its greatest stain on justice and her struggle to feel included and loved despite her differences in a post-racial America. She highlights her moments of growth - some thrilling some gut-wrenching all of them enlightening that nurtured her own Black womanhood. She also unearths her observations on critical issues she feels passionate about from race gender and crime and the school-to-prison pipeline to the student loan debt crisis.
