Dr Ibrahim Wada is a recipient of the National Honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) for his ground-breaking works in medicine specifically the breakthrough in in vitro fertilisation (IVF) the birth of the first nationally authenticated ‘test tube” baby born in Nigeria in 1998. He became a consultant in 1992 at the prestigious Bourn Hall Clinic Cambridge the world’s first centre for IVF.
