Business Intelligence and its application in Credit Unions

Due to the various developments that have taken place in recent years in the business world the economic scenario has become more competitive for companies. Information technology (IT) has been a strong ally in the decision-making process of organisational executives and its advances have allowed decision support systems such as Business Intelligence (BI) to become indispensable solutions. The co-operatives of the Brazilian Credit Union System (Sicoob) are part of this challenging scenario. In order to be competitive in the market these co-operatives need an edge as a means of winning new members and retaining the loyalty of existing ones. To this end Sicoob has invested in implementing a BI project in order to boost the business of its co-operatives.
