About The Book

By the Wing of a Dove is poetry written and illustrated by Kristian Brockmann witha brief introduction explaining the background to the poems within. On a beautifulspring day in mid-October he released two heavenly doves on the Balmain peninsulaoverlooking Sydney Harbour. This was mainly in recognition of Sri Lankancolleagues he had met through work as an Engineer. Colleagues both Sinhaleseand Tamil were recent migrants to Australia as are many Australians and the dovessymbolise the end of the civil confl ict in Sri Lanka in 2009.The poetry is much more than just a symbol of peace though. Dedicated tofamily and friends part one was written in hospital recovering from a diffi cultillness. He recovered in 2008 in the Hunter Valley with family support. Thesecond part of the poetry is compiled from various other times in his life.Each of the poems is illustrated with a photograph from places around Australiaand from a holiday in Europe in 2004.Following his recovery he worked in Sydney for several years before returningto the Hunter Valley where he currently resides writing poetry in his spare time.
