Canary Hill

<p class=ql-align-justify><em>Canary Hill </em>is explained in an eponymous poem towards the end. Canary Hill is apparently the name of a small undistinguished hillock near Guha Majumdar's old boarding school where he and his friends would often gather on weekends. The poems of Guha Majumdar are not really narrative but several do refer to stories and all are full of metaphors and images a characteristic of the poet's mind which cannot conceive of a person place object or event without it bringing a train of associated ideas and sharp and vivid sometimes startling or violent images. </p><p></p>
