Canine Ehrlichiosis

Canine monocytic ehrlichiosis is caused by the obligate intracellular bacterium Ehrlichia canis is an important disease of dogs and other canids worldwide which is transmitted by the brown dog-tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus. The disease is most virulent in canine and has got a significant incidence rate among all the tick-borne diseases of dog. Though the disease is quite common in tropics and sub-tropics still diagnosis of it is challenging due to its different phases and multiple manifestations.
