Captain California Battles of the Beelzebubian Beasts of the Bible: A Young Man's Encounter with the Evil Within Himself

Captain California presents some refreshingly original ideas on religion and human psychology. It recounts the authors spiritual transition from a psychologically disturbed young man obsessed with fantasies of rape and suicide to a mature adult with a message of optimism and love. The author presents complex ideas in a simple way in the manner of a young man who had spent most of his life reading comic books and is acknowledging the complexity of life for the first time. Much of it reads like an adventure novel. The grandiose title reflects the authors resentment that religion turned him into an atheist and it was only by outgrowing religious dogma that he was able to find God as an archetype within himself. The author claims that he felt as if his mind had become the battleground between Christ and the Antichrist. That is what this book is about.
