CARHOPS - Their friendship was forbidden

Jimmy and Henry are growing up in a small racially divided town in the southwest. Jimmy is white and Henry is black. The conventions of their environment dictate that friendship is unacceptable yet when they find themselves working together as Carhops they become friends and more. As they progress through high school Henry finds success on the football team and Jimmy is in a supporting role. Over time their friendship has a profound effect on both their families and on their community. When they graduate and go their separate ways they promise that the friendship will continue forever.
