<p>Kenny Strange spent three years as a member of the International Churches of Christ (ICOC) a controversial Christian sect regarded by many as a cult. His beliefs about eternal damnation fueled his continued devotion to the church creating insufferable tension between his faith and a conflicting desire to embrace an unwanted LGBTQ identity.</p><p><br></p><p>In 2006 he was asked by his sixth-grade teacher: where do you see yourself in ten years? Cartwheels on the Curbside follows the decade. This coming-of-age memoir reflects on Kenny's childhood passion for gymnastics the circumstances that led him to join the ICOC and the events left in the wake of his sudden defection from the organization. Following the path to self-acceptance he takes readers on a journey through the tumultuous process of deconstructing his faith ultimately leading him to fulfill a lifelong dream.</p><p><br></p>
