The costume and set</p><p>designs were the work of Art Deco legend</p><p>George Barbier. </p><p>Between the end of World</p><p>War I and the late 1920s much of Barbier's</p><p>time was claimed by theatrical design</p><p>beginning with Rostand's Casanova.</p><p>Barbier's designs were originally published in</p><p>1924 as a set of 24 pochoir colour plates now</p><p>one of his rarest and most sought after works:</p><p>they are here reprinted for the first time. </p>
