This unique resource is for parents educators librarians and anyone who cares about diversity in children's books. </p><p></p><p>Children's literature is one of the most influential tools in shaping young minds and opening their hearts. Books serve as both mirrors and windows allowing the young reader to see themselves on the pages they are reading or gain better understanding of new ideas/topics.</p><p></p><h4><strong>Why This Catalog & Why Now?</strong></h4><p></p><p><strong><em>Right now diversity is under siege - stories that reflect the richness of diverse cultures races beliefs and family structures risk being silenced.</em></strong> It is vital to create spaces where diverse voices are celebrated - not silenced! Independent authors are bridging representation gaps ensuring kids have access to stories where they can be seen and where they can explore worlds unknow. Yet indie authors can often remain invisible to those who need them most.
