Centric Relation in Complete Dentures

Centric jaw relation plays a major role in Prosthodontics as a whole and especially in complete denture prosthodontics. It is the most reliable reference position obtainable for occlusal rehabilitation in edentulous patients as there is a loss of proprioception due to the absence of teeth. In such patients centric relation position helps to guide the patient in a clinically repeatable recordable and unstrained stable position. The centric record is mandatory and imperative to a successful complete denture.
