Cerebral palsy (CP) is a heterogenous permanent neurological disorder caused by non-progressive damage to the developing brain. In this disorder injury or malformation occurs in the growing central nervous system that affects the development of motor function and body posture before during or shortly after birth. The motor disorders of cerebral palsy are often accompanied by disturbances of sensation cognition communication perception and/or behavior and/or by a seizure disorder. Cerebral Palsy has substantial effects on function and health-related quality of life of patients and their care givers.
