The main objective of this book is to evaluate the effect of Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certifications on the well-being of cocoa producers in Cameroon. Specifically it aims to assess the effect of these certifications on the economic and social well-being of producers. In order to achieve these objectives a survey was carried out among producers in the central region specifically in the districts of Ngoumou and Mbangassina. Cost-benefit analysis was the methodology used to achieve the objectives. It assessed the costs benefits profits and profitability criteria for each category of grower (certified and non-certified) and led to the results that UTZ-certified growers spent 28064.9 Fcfa/year/ha more than non-certified growers in Ngoumou. The analysis also showed that cocoa farmers spend more of their income on education food and health. However it should be noted that certified farmers spent more than non-certified farmers particularly on children''s education.
