Chagas disease in Teixeira de Freitas Ba.

The main objective of this study was to verify the situation of official records of CD in the municipality of Teixeira de Freitas BA through the search of information in the Sector of Epidemiological Surveillance/Municipal Health Secretariat provided by the DCA Investigation Forms to SINAN comparing them with data obtained from health professionals through questionnaires and interviews. Although the official records indicate the absence of chagasic with the acute form of the disease in the municipality the health professionals interviewed showed another reality the existence of chronic cases.*Monograph started in 2011 being completed and approved in 2012.
