Emerging from a semi-feudal world these women – peasants and pastoralists student activists and workers from the cities – participated fully in the Eritrean revolution. They have organized cells gathered intelligence carried out clandestine missions set up and ran health and education systems and fought on the front line and in transforming themselves they have transformed Eritrea.</p>
