Challenges and Prospect of Tourism Development in Bahir Dar City

The definition of tourism today is the one given and approved by the UN in (1993) by the World Tourism Organization (WTO): “It comprises the activities of persons travelling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited.” Besides to this According to World Tourism Organization (2005) tourism is an activity of human beings moving and staying in places outside their permanent residence and environment for recreation business and trade purposes.
