A major reason for the parlous and sorry state of the Nigerian economy and many developing nations of the world today is the inability to manage the economy. Many custodians saddled with the management power of the economy have not demonstrated sound technical and strategic knowledge of what it entails to manage a modern dynamic and kaleidoscopic economy should be. This study is an eye opener to the challenges of monetary policy management and growth prospects of the Nigerian economy. The findings will be of immense contribution for policy making and its implementations.
