Characteristic study of an HDPE-based composite material

About The Book

Natural fibers have recently attracted the attention of scientists due to their characteristics: low cost low density renewable biodegradable and non-corrosive. In this work we prepared and investigated the properties of high-density polyethylene matrix composites reinforced with plant fibers leaf of prickly cactus. To study the effect of fiber content (5% 15% 25%) on composite quality physical morphological and mechanical analyses were carried out on the various materials produced. The results obtained show that these composite materials exhibit good rigidity a reduction in density and slight brittleness making them brittle.
