About The Book

Optical property of nonmaterial is the most prominent and widely investigated property. Both metal and semiconductor nanostructures show optical spectra though their underlying physics is different. Metal nanostructures show absorption spectra due to excitation of Plasmon and semiconductor nanostructures absorb incident radiation to transit from lower to higher energy state. Proper tuning of the shape size crystallinity and adsorbed surfactant leads to varied absorption and emission spectra which is prior criterion for suitability of their application in different devices. In this book various nanocrystals are synthesized by one pot polymer assisted hydrothermal process. Their characterization and optical property is discussed in detail. Application of the synthesized nanomaterials are also demonstrated.
