Characterization and sizing of landfills for MSW

Rapid global population growth and economic development are causing changes in terrestrial systems that can have serious and lasting consequences. One of these is the large amount of municipal solid waste (MSW) generated which hinders the environment's ability to decompose and recycle it through natural processes. In this context the objective of this project was to identify patterns in the generation of MSW in Brazil and municipalities in the state of São Paulo using different scenarios and various statistical patterns and estimates.
