About The Book

This Monograph includes studies on chemical control of weeds and self-sown plants in eight field crops: durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) winter oilseed canola (Brassica napus L.) oil-bearing sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) grain maize (Zea mays L.) grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor Moench.) winter forage pea (Pisum sativum L.) coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) and milk thistle (Silybum marianum Gaertn.). The studies are result of 17 three-year field experiments. The study found the efficacy against weeds and self-sown plants of 143 herbicides including: 32 herbicides in wheat 21 herbicides in canola 18 herbicides in sunflower 24 herbicides in maize 16 herbicides in sorghum 8 herbicides in pea 12 herbicides in coriander and 12 herbicides in milk thistle. A large number of herbicide combinations and herbicide tank mixtures have also been tested. It was investigated the influence of herbicides herbicide combinations and herbicide tank mixtures on grain yield grain quality for processing and sowing characteristics of seeds. It was established technologically the most valuable variants from viewpoint of technologies for growing of the relevant crops.
