The zootechnical additive VITAFERT shows promise as a tool to improve the health and performance of livestock animals. In this study its chemical-microbiological composition and its in vitro antimicrobial capacity were evaluated. With an adequate nutritional profile (crude protein 7.12 % calcium 1.32 % pH=4) and high presence of beneficial microorganisms VITAFERT showed a significant inhibition (P<0.001) against pathogenic bacteria especially Staphylococcus. These results support its use as a natural additive for disease prevention in animal production.
