This book offers a simplistic but comprehensive overview of heterocyclic compounds. The first two chapters deal with introduction, nomenclature and significance of heterocyclic compounds. The subsequent chapters explicitly provide various methods of preparation and reactivity of three to seven membered heterocyclic compounds. Porphyrins About the Authors Dr. Rakesh Kumar Parashar is Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi. He received his Ph.D degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Delhi in 1990 in the area of ‘Synthetic Heterocyclic Chemistry’ and has Post-Doctoral research experience from University of Barcelona, Spain and Technical University of New Lisbon, Portugal. He has 30 research papers and review articles in Peer Reviewed International and National Journals. He has 23 years of teaching experience to undergraduate and M.Tech. (Chemical Synthesis and Process Technologies) students. He has guided five students for their Ph.D.degree. Dr. Parashar has delivered invited lectures and presentations in various international and National conferences both in India and abroad. Dr. Beena Negi received her Ph.D.degree in synthetic medicinal chemistry from University of Delhi in 2012. She has received ‘Jeans and Ashit Ganguly education scholarship’ and ‘Science Meritorious Award’ by University of Delhi for the year 2007. Dr. Negi is a recipient of CSIR-JRF and University Teaching Assistantship. She has ten international publications to her credit. She is currently teaching the undergraduate students of University of Delhi for Last few years.
