The attempt summarized preparation of 4-carboxaldehyde-1-phenyl-3methyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one and their Schiff bases with p-phenylenediamine and benzidine. Structural and spectroscopic properties of neutral bidentate ligands were studied on the basis of mass spectra NMR (1H and 13C) spectra FT-IR spectrum and elemental analyses. Mass spectral data confirm the structure of ligands as indicated by the molecular ion peak (M+) corresponding to their molecular weight. Also the different metal complexes were synthesized using Schiff bases. Furthermore the conductivity magnetic electronic spectral and thermogravimetric data suggest six coordinate octahedral stereochemistry for all the metal chelates. Antimicrobial activities of the schiff bases and its metal chelates against different bacterial fungal and yeast microorganism were evaluated.
