Childhood accidents are a major public health problem worldwide. They still top the list of the most frequent causes of death worldwide. Unfortunately the problem remains marginalized. Indeed their incidence and impact remain poorly understood.Several factors interact to lead to the occurrence of an accident. Accidents don't just happen by chance. The correct application of preventive measures helps to avoid risk factors and reduce the incidence and impact of accidents. To identify these risk factors we first need to know the epidemiology of these accidents which varies from one country to another and from one age group to another.
