Children's Attribution of Emotions to Sociomoral Events

About The Book

The developmental connections between children''s moral development and emotional attribution evolve between the ages of four and eight years old. Research has shown younger children tend to associate positive feelings or emotions to desire fulfillment that resulted from breaking a sociomoral rule. The purpose of this study was to examine (a) the age in which children begin to associate negative feelings to desire fulfillment; (b) the possible variation in emotional attribution according to the type of sociomoral rule governing the situation; (c) the correlation between theory of mind scores and emotional attribution.
