Choose Life Journal

<p>There is an old saying When the student is ready the teacher will appear. The same is true for a mentor. </p><p> </p><p>In 2005 I found the book The Divine Mentor by Wayne Cordeiro. I can say that as a student of the Word I was ready hungry and thirsty. I have faithfully applied his plan for over eighteen years. </p><p> </p><p>About year fifteen the Holy Spirit began to prompt me to develop my own system. I changed the acronym because prayer is so central to a disciple's life and growth. I added elements of music (central to my worship of God) scripture memorization (central to a biblical worldview and spiritual maturation) and an overview of each book of the bible (linked to the Bible Project). </p><p> </p><p>I encourage you to make the transition from a devotional lifestyle to a journaling lifestyle. What is the difference between the two? One is a vicarious lifestyle the other requires digging effort and personal engagement with the Holy Spirit. One is a compilation of someone's thoughts about a text. The other is a one on one between you and the Holy Spirit.
