<p>When a work incident pushes Detective Aubrey Cavanaugh back to her family's ranch in the Hill Country all she craves is solitude with a trusty bottle of vodka-a remedy for her guilt and a respite for her mind.</p><p> </p><p>Family friends and especially her ex-lover turned ranch foreman Erich Harlan are the last things she wants to confront.</p><p> </p><p>Erich's plate is full managing the ranch in Aubrey's parents' absence yet he can't ignore her obvious pain.
