Cities+1m

<p>This book highlights various solutions for the required transition of coastal cities due to +1m sea level rise. The current understanding is that infrastructure buildings industry and communities have to be protected by engineering-based solutions or cities have to retreat. The book adds two more solutions where cities can advance onto the water or can accommodate. All four different concepts are introduced and presented in a manual and as urban design proposals for one specific site. Therefore the book can be used in two ways: Either as a general guide for urban transition processes due to +1m sea level rise or as demonstration project how differently sites can be developed further and created thereby additional opportunities.</p><p></p>
