Citizenship Behaviour in Nigerian Organisations

Organisations are formed for realising goals. For goals to be realised organisations need employees that do not only deliver on their tasks but are willing to go beyond the call of duty to deliver competitive market value: employees that exhibit citizenship behaviour. With the depressed nature of the Nigerian economy and its implication for the psyche and morale of employees it is often assumed that most Nigerian employees have poor attitude to work and may not go beyond the call of duty. Do Nigerian employees really have poor attitude to work? Can and do they exhibit citizenship behaviour? This book provides these answers. Through an empirical investigation the book reveals the level dimensions as well as the determinants of citizenship behaviour in the Nigerian workplace.
