About The Book

The eighth volume of Georg Eberss historical novel Cleopatra Vol 8 tells the story of the final days of the Ptolemaic dynasty in Egypt. The book begins with Cleopatras son Caesarion being crowned Pharaoh. However Caesarions reign is short-lived as he is assassinated by Octavians forces. With Caesarions death the Ptolemaic dynasty comes to an end and Egypt becomes a Roman province. The book also tells the story of the love triangle between Cleopatra Mark Antony and Octavian. Cleopatra and Antony are married but Octavian is determined to destroy them. He eventually succeeds and Antony and Cleopatra both commit suicide. Cleopatra Vol 8 is a sweeping historical novel that tells the story of one of the most famous women in history.
