Clinical Implantology

Implantology is a part of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery that deals with surgical techniques used to functionally restore mandibular or maxillary bone rendered edentulous by the continuous transformation of oral cavity – e.g. attrition periodontitis trauma caries etc. Many a times due to inadequate bone the process of dental implant placement becomes complicated which leads to implant failure. Modifications of the alveolar ridge can greatly improve implant stability and longevity. Various implant graft materials and grafting technique are discussed in the book.
