<p>It’s all going on at Snapethorpe Prison. There’s a dead prisoner and an inspector who wants to find out what happened. The governor doesn’t trust anyone and for good reason. The local union committee is plotting against him and each other. In the kitchen there’s a caterer with a gambling problem and a chaplain who wants to know where the bodies are to be (re)buried. Down at headquarters in the Press Office they’re trying to do damage limitation whilst up at Snapethorpe yet more scandals are getting into the newspapers.</p><p>Welcome to the world of a big local prison back in the eighties where getting through the day was seen as something of an achievement.</p>
