Close Your Eyes

<p>Set in early 1400s Europe <strong>Close Your Eyes</strong> is told in the first person by Samuel the court jester for the Kingdom of Gora. In telling the story of his friends Tycho and Agnieszka he incorporates writings from Tycho's journals and also letters written by Bishop Tonnelli who was exiled from Rome to Gora. While set in early-Renaissance Europe and referencing places and personalities from this time period the Kingdom of Gora where the story is placed is fictional.</p><p></p><p>As Samuel attempts to describe why his friends Agnieszka the cook and Tycho the story-teller fled the King of Gora's service he learns that love was the beating heart behind everything that happened in the castle. He learns as well that more ghosts than he knew of walked the midnight halls and that the spirit of Jeanne d'Arc haunted his friend and once slid into bed with Tycho daring him to leave - to take to the cold roads of Europe where he had once wandered orphaned and alone and find his destiny there.</p>
