CO2 flux under cerrado vegetation and in tillage areas

About The Book

The Cerrado biome is the second most important in Brazil yet there is little understanding of its functioning particularly in relation to the carbon cycle compared to agricultural systems. Recent research has shown the importance of soil carbon as a stock source and potential CO2 sink. Nowadays it is fundamental to produce with low carbon emission without expanding the agricultural frontier especially in preserved areas. One of the great challenges of agricultural activity is to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) and increase the absorption of carbon in ecosystems.
