Thank you for contributing significantly to preserving this knowledge and for your support of the preservation effort.Lewis Falley Allen was a well-known Buffalo and American farmer merchant and politician (January 1 1800 – May 2 1890). Allen who was Grover Clevelands uncle is credited with exposing Cleveland to the legal and political systems and thereby laying the groundwork for his future election to the presidency. Allen relocated to Sandusky Ohio in 1818 to work for his uncle one of the regions wealthiest landowners. After three and a half years Allen moved back to New England where he and his younger brothers once more worked for their fathers. They sold the company in 1826 and all relocated back to New York.
