About The Book

Colorectal cancer is the leading digestive cancer worldwide. The liver is the most frequent site of colorectal cancer metastases. During the course of the disease 40 to 60% of patients will develop liver metastases which are synchronous in 10 to 25% of cases.Elective surgery is the only potentially curative treatment. In the synchronous situation the simultaneous surgical approach has been validated but poses a problem of approach.Laparoscopy may have a place in this approach. The aim of our study was to assess the feasibility and safety of the laparoscopic approach in combined surgery for colorectal cancer with synchronous liver metastases.
