About the Book: Dr. Sood graduated from Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla India with a Gold Medal in Surgery in 1991 and obtained her MS Ophthalmology from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital (IGGMCH) Nagpur India in 1996. She then worked in various prestigious hospitals in DelhiIndia in the capacity of Consultant and Surgical trainer before shifting to UAE in 2012. She is an experienced Eye Surgeon for 30 years and also has numerous indexed International and National Publications as well as presentations to her credit. She has been with RAK Hospital since August 2012 and has been serving the local community since then. During the COVID pandemic she observed an occurrence of errors of refraction and a jump in myopic errors in children because of online studies. The trend continued post pandemic because of the continued Digital Learning and on screen entertainment. The concern of seeing even toddlers addicted to phones and iPad games has led to this initiative of an eye care coloring book with positive oaths for eye health. 16 oaths were conceptualised for each year of the impressionable journey from childhood to adulthood. About the Author: Computer Vision Syndrome and Eye Health Digital devices have become an integral and unavoidable part of modern life. Many people spend 8 to 9 hours a day in front of screens for work and entertainment. Unfortunately these devices have affected our ocular health the most in addition to causing neck and back pain. Children are also no exception to this growing issue. The unique coloring book has been designed by Dr Sood to emphasize the importance of giving rest to children’s eyes from digital devices and for a change engage them in coloring eye care messages with cute nature inspired drawings and fun eye care activitiesin the process imbibing healthy eye habits.
