Columbus

Explorers of yore travelled the seas in search of new land for the sole purpose of commercial gain. These ancient explorers were the ones who discovered many of the present day countries and continents. Perhaps the most significant of these discoveries was that of the American continents by a daring explorer and navigator named Christopher Columbus. He was an Italian navigator who sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean in search of a route to Asia but landed in the ‘new world’ of the Americas and gaining lasting fame.
