Coming Out of the Shadows

Emerging from the Shadows is much more than an economic book: it is an invitation to rethink the future of the Democratic Republic of Congo based on its most neglected strengths. This book develops an idea as ambitious as it is realistic: by recognizing and promoting its informal economy today the true backbone of national activity the DRC can double its gross domestic product (GDP) in ten years. On the condition of course that it moves beyond a logic of marginalization and into a dynamic of structuring support and transformation.
