Commentary on 40 Ahadeeth Arbaeen of Imaam Nawawi

<p><b></b><em>Arba’een </em>in Arabic means ‘40’ and ‘Nawawi’ refers to Imaam Nawawi <em>Rahmatullah </em>Alayh. This Hadith <em>kitaab </em>is a comprehensive collection of 40 authentic Ahaadeeth of <em>Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam</em> compiled by Imaam Nawawi <em>Rahmatullah Alayh</em>.Imaam Nawawi <em>Rahmatullah Alayh</em> mentions with regard to his <em>Arba’een</em> that the main point of consideration in the compilation of these all encompassing all embracing <em>Ahaadeeth</em> is that they convey some important <em>Usool </em>[principle] of <em>Deen</em> upon which the pivot of Islam rotates. If one observes carefully there are actually 42 <em>Ahaadeeth </em>gathered in total in his compilation.Many other famous <em>Muhadditheen</em> were compilers of their <em>Arba’een </em>as well. The first being the great Aalim jurist faqeeh Abdullah bin Mubaruk <em>Rahmatullah Alayh</em>.<br></p><p> Other Arba’een Kitaabs include well known authors namely ; Daraquthni Haakim [Mustadrak]. They composed <em>Arba’een </em>of some specific <em>Usool </em>[fundamental] of Deen pertaining to specific topics eg: 40 Ahaadeeth on Salaah; 40 Ahaadeeth relating to <em>Zuhd </em>[asceticism] ; 40 Ahaadeeth on <em>Adaab </em>[Islamic etiquette] etc.In every Islamic period scholars have compiled innumerable Arba’een’s however till today Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala has granted thisrenowned kitaab of Imaam Nawawi <em>Rahmatullah Alayh</em> special acceptanceMufti Shafee Saheb <em>Rahmatullah Alayh</em> mentioned that Imaam Nawawi <em>Rahmatullah Alayh</em> has compiled these Ahaadeeth because he realised that there is decay in our environment and hence has brought such Ahaadeeth that will show the prevention and cure from the problems that the Ummah is suffering from.<em></em><br></p>
