Communal Resistance to Large-Scale Mining in Lesotho

The mining sector plays a crucial role in the economic development of any country even though this varies from one country to the other and this sector continues to grow. According to ICMM (2014:10) the global value in the mineral production has grown economically over the last decade. This sector has shown relative importance in the global economy and the unprecedented growth in the demand for minerals and metals in India China and other emerging ecnomies ICMM (2014:10) have largely driven this economic boom.
